Our committees meet in February-March

New substance evaluation conclusion published

  • reaction mass of mixed (3,3,4,4,5,5,6,6,7,7,8,8,8-tridecafluorooctyl) phosphates, ammonium salt (EC 700-161-3), evaluated by Netherlands.

Corrigendum: testing proposals

We launched 25 new consultations on testing proposals last week.


The correct deadline for submitting comments is 10 March 2025 (instead of 7 March, as indicated in our last bulletin).

Consultation on harmonised classification and labelling

We are looking for comments on the harmonised classification and labelling (CLH) proposal for: 

  • 1,3,4,6,7,8-hexahydro-4,6,6,7,8,8-hexamethylindeno[5,6-c]pyran; [galaxolide]; [HHCB] (EC 214-946-9, CAS 1222-05-5).

Have your say until 28 March 2025.

New intention and proposals to harmonise classification and labelling

An intention has been submitted for: 

  • sodium chlorate (EC 231-887-4; CAS 7775-09-9); 

Proposals have been submitted for: 

  • fluoxapiprolin (ISO); 2-{3-[2-(1-{[3,5-bis(difluoromethyl)-1H-pyrazol-1-yl]acetyl}-4-piperidinyl)-1,3-thiazol-4-yl]-4,5-dihydro-1,2-oxazol-5-yl}-3-chlorophenyl methanesulfonate (EC -, CAS 1360819-11-9); and
  • malathion (ISO); 1,2-bis(ethoxycarbonyl)ethyl O,O-dimethyl phosphorodithioate; [containing ≤ 0.03 % isomalathion] name (EC 204-497-7, CAS 121-75-5).

Assessment of regulatory needs reports published

Reports for the following substance groups are now available on our website:

  • Long chain aliphatic benzylic quaternary ammonium compounds; and
  • Non-cyclic carboxylic acid anhydrides.

If you have questions or feedback related to the assessment work, you can send them to us using this webform.

Maintenance of ECHA Accounts portal

We will carry out maintenance of ECHA Accounts portal on Friday 7 February 2025 between 7:00-17:00 Helsinki time.


This will affect the use of our IT tools that require login. For example, Interact Portal, REACH-IT, R4BP 3, ePIC, ECHA Submission portal and ECHA Cloud Services, will not be accessible during the maintenance.

Annual work programme 2025 published

Our single programming document 2025-2027 and the annual work programme 2025 outline ECHA’s priorities and main activities.


Our focus remains on providing transparent, independent and high-quality scientific opinions and decisions, supporting the safe use of chemicals across Europe. We work closely with EU institutional partners, Member States, industry and NGOs to advance chemical safety.
