Ethanol in biocides assessment – where are we? Ethanol is an active substance that is widely used in biocidal products, such as hand and surface disinfectants. Currently, its safety and effectiveness are being reviewed by our Biocidal Products Committee – based on an assessment report prepared by the Greek authorities.
We have now published a status update on the process. On our Biocides topics page, we also explain how the active substance assessment process relates to harmonised classification and what the next steps are. |
