Dear Friend,
Welcome back to my Week in Review newsletter. Please remember to follow me on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube for regular updates on how I am serving the people of South Carolina!
Defending Charter Schools
All parents — regardless of race, income, or zip code — want the best for their kids, especially when it comes to education. That’s why thousands of families moved their kids to charter schools throughout the pandemic, resulting in a 7 percent increase in enrollment.
Despite this clear show of support for charter schools, the Biden administration recently proposed a new rule that would make it difficult — if not impossible — for many schools to receive funding. This week, I led a bipartisan group of my colleagues on a letter to Education Secretary Miguel Cardona, urging the Department of Education to reverse course. Click here to read more about the letter.
Putting American Energy First
In the last 20 years, the U.S. has cut our emissions nearly in half, while China has doubled theirs. Rather than celebrating our progress and supporting American energy production, my colleagues on the Left are pushing for burdensome climate regulations that would put our economy at a disadvantage.
Energy production in the U.S. is cleaner than energy production in China thanks to American innovation — not government intervention. I forced my colleagues to vote on the Senate floor this week on whether or not they would put American energy first. Click below for my remarks!

Calling Out Democrats’ Failed Leadership
President Biden’s policies have brought us back to the Carter era — high prices at home and instability abroad! We need strong leadership now more than ever. I joined Neil Cavuto on Fox Business to discuss the Biden administration’s economic blunders and how Republican policies can help turn the tide. Click below for the interview.
