Email Marketing Tip #16:
Advertise Your Email Campaigns
with SMS

Grow your list through SMS (short message service, aka text-messaging). 
People tend to use SMS when they have some down time or are waiting for
something/someone, so advertise your SMS email subscription in strategic locations
(e.g., foyers, elevators, point of sale, on a billboard, by the subway,
etc).  You can also offer on-site opportunities via SMS for people to sign up
to your mailing list.  For example, place a sign at the register saying "Text
your email address to 12345 for special discounts".
