Email Marketing Tip #19:
Use Direct Mail to Grow Your
Email List

If you send direct mail (we're talking snail mail), use a portion of the real
estate to alert recipients of your email program.  Whether you send a
brochure, catalog, billing information, or any other types of communication, take
the opportunity to direct recipients to your website to sign up for your
emails.  Tell them why they should want to receive emails from you and entice
them to sign up.  Next time you fly Southwest Airlines, take note of their
email advertisements.  They promote their email campaigns on the monitors
when people are waiting to board, on posters throughout the airport terminals, and
even on the peanut packages!  See an example
of a SWA direct mail piece
