Marketing Tip #3:
10 Days is a Long Time


Honor all opt-out requests within ten (10) business days.  If
you use an email application like Publicaster, opt-out requests are honored
automatically.  When choosing an email service provider, check to make sure
this is the case.  Not only do you need to remain CAN-SPAM compliant, but
sending emails to someone who previously opted-out would be detrimental to your
email campaigns.  Why?  The words credibility and reputation come to
mind.  Also, someone may opt-out because your emails aren't timely to them at
the moment, but they could be planning to resubscribe at a later date.  You
must always be thinking about relationship-building with recipients – even
during the
opt-out.
