Email Marketing Tip #7:

Subject lines aren't the only component when
it comes to your email open rate.  Besides your reputation with subscribers
(more on this in a later tip), your friendly from name and preheader also play a
part in getting your email opened.  Use these three components (subject line,
friendly from name, and preheader) as complements to one another.  The more
information your subscriber has and the more value they see, the more likely they
are to open your email.  For example, What Counts' monthly newsletter, Factory
, is set up this way:
From Name: What Counts
Line: Factory Direct: Add a Little Love to Your Email
Preheader: Email Marketing Insights. Delivered.
from name tells our subscribers who the email is from, the subject line lets them
know it's our monthly newsletter, and the preheader gives a quick overview of the email's
