Editor's Notes

March has been filled with reflections on the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, but today brings a reminder that we must continue to carry 2020's awakening around systemic racism with us, as well.

Ten months after the death of George Floyd, the murder trial of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin is opening today. It will determine the justice system's role in accountability, and the details from the courtroom deserve focus.

But as we watch, it can also serve as a moment to offer ourselves a reminder that we can't stop working to root out racism. Are you still living the values you espoused amid the protests? Is that initiative you launched moving forward? There are generations of history that led to the disparities we face, so it will take sustained action to change. Let's take a moment to recommit.
