'Like a marriage': What it’s like playing one of the world's rarest violins

Emily Sun has become the custodian of "The Adelaide", a violin purchased by the people of South Australia in 1955, currently valued at $US1 million.

The historic violin was crafted by famed luthier Giovanni Battista Guadagnini in Milan between 1753-1757.

"I feel very privileged to play on this beautiful instrument during this fleeting period of its already long life and history," Emily says of becoming custodian.

You can hear Emily play this special violin with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, performing Bruch's First Violin Concerto.
