Get the balloons and confetti ready, it's officially Emirates' 40th birthday.

When Emirates started on this day back in 1985, it had only one goal: “look good, be good and make money.” It's fair to say they've done just that.

In fact, it was only announced this week that Emirates has just added 17 extra flights across the Eid Al Fitr long weekend to some incredible destinations.

Clearly the giving type, Dubai's biggest airline has also been giving away free attraction tickets, dishing out plenty of freebies for families and even serves more than 45 million(!) miniature chocolates every year. That's a lot of delicious moments.

So, it's official. Emirates has been glowing up our holiday plans for four decades and we're certain they'll continue to do so.

Here's to 40 more brilliant years.
