Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, a Republican, has banned the implementation of all COVID-19 vaccine mandates in the state by any entity, including private companies. The move contradicts President Joe Biden's call for businesses to mandate their workers to be vaccinated in an effort to control the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

PepsiCo's Frito-Lay division plans to add more than 5,000 front-line employees by the end of the year to meet accelerating demand for a total of roughly 15,000 hires this year.
