Come experience the most interactive museum in the District! The National Law Enforcement Museum in Washington, D.C. is the nation’s only Museum dedicated to telling the story of American law enforcement by providing visitors with a “walk in the shoes of an officer” experience. The Museum is open Thursday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., every week of the year. A place for the entire family to enjoy, the Museum offers a variety of educational experiences that involve hands-on activities, enriching experiences and insightful programs that expand the relationship shared by law enforcement and the community.
• Officers as Artists Art Exhibit – Located in the Museum’s DuPont Gallery, celebrate the creative expression and transformative power of art, featuring 50 active and retired officers from across the country! • Cutting-edge experiences like the state-of-the-art L3Harris PatrolSim™ Driving Simulator, and the Decision Simulator, sponsored by Glock. • More than 25,000 thousand artifacts, spanning 300 years of American law enforcement history. • Daily Museum highlight tours led by resident law enforcement museum guides, take visitors through the museum’s exhibits, showcasing a handful of artifacts and telling the complex story of American law enforcement. • Learn through immersive exhibits, such as 9-1-1 Operations, Forensics, take part in engaging scavenger hunts, walking tours and check out the law enforcement in pop culture collection and screening room for unique opportunities to see law enforcement in a new light! • Service and Sacrifice—a truly transformational film experience that explores the soul and purpose of law enforcement officers and their families. • Engaging programs for all ages—from private classes to public workshops and engaging conversations, our programs provide a chance to see the world of law enforcement in action and discover a deeper understanding of their vital service to our country. • The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial— Located across the street from the museum. The memorial is the nation’s monument to the 24,412 law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty; each name hand engraved over the span of 30 years. Earlier this spring, the names of 345 fallen officers were engraved into the walls of the Memorial. The names of the fallen were read aloud and honored during the 37th annual Candlelight Vigil on the National Mall in D.C. on Tuesday, May 13, 2025.
