| TOURISM AUSTRALIA UPDATE | Last week was a big week for tourism news with the launch of the Business Events Grant Program, the release of the latest domestic tourism data and of course the launch of our Australian COVID Travel Portal. The data released by Tourism Research Australia was encouraging and clearly demonstrated how much pent up demand there is for domestic travel, with more than 5.4 million domestic visitors travelling throughout Australia. The majority of these visitors travelled intrastate to regional locations which is fantastic to see and now that we have a clearer plan for reopening state borders, I know many people are already considering/ putting in place their summer holiday travel plans. The Australian COVID Travel Portal is a tool we have created to let travellers know it’s safe to travel and show how the Australian tourism industry is putting in place the highest standards and stringent COVIDSafe measures to ensure their wellbeing and safety at every point in the customer journey. Read more about the Portal below. Phillipa Harrison | |
