This week our Prime Minister, the Hon Anthony Albanese is in China where he witnessed Tourism Australia’s signing of our renewed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) agreement with global online travel agency Trip.com Group, at the company’s global headquarters in Shanghai on Sunday. The signing of the three-year agreement to boost Chinese tourism to Australia builds on our longstanding partnership with Trip.com; and through further collaboration, aims to grow Australia’s share of visitors from China as well as other key markets such as Singapore, Malaysia, India, and Japan.
During the signing ceremony the Prime Minister also witnessed the unveiling of the new trailer for the next chapter of Tourism Australia’s ‘Come and Say G’day’ campaign, to be launched next month. We also revealed Chinese actor Yosh Yu, who has starred in many blockbuster movies in China, as the campaign’s ambassador for the market.
In case you missed it, we held our July Industry Webinar recently, with Rob Dougan, our Executive General Manager, Strategy and Culture, giving an update on the latest tourism data and Tourism Australia’s activities. Rob also took the opportunity to chat with recently appointed Destination NSW CEO, Karen Jones, who spoke about some of the recent activity in New South Wales. If you missed the webinar please see the recording here.
