| | ETF Express US ETF awards winners announced The ETF Express team is reporting from Manhattan this week, as we arrived to host the fifth ETF Express US ETF awards at The Metropolitan Club. The leading players in the US ETF industry gathered to celebrate their successes in what is proving to be an extraordinary year for asset flows into ETFs. We have published the list of winners who attended the event, and we will celebrate all the winners in our special report which will be published in a couple of weeks. I had the pleasure of talking to Doug Yones of the NYSE before event and you can watch that conversation here as we discussed the rise of active ETFs and the record number of launches with our US launches column, brought to you in partnership with STOXX, reporting over 50 ETF launches in the US in just one week in September. European ETF asset flows haven’t been too shabby either, with a few stories coming through that show it will be a record year for ETF assets in the region. Invesco reported EMEA ETFs had enjoyed their strongest quarter ever in the third quarter of this year, while a survey from BlackRock and YouGov found European ETF growth across the board. "Investing through digital platforms breaks down barriers for people coming to financial markets with more efficient account opening and set up procedures. ETFs are a great way for people to start their investing journey, as they are simple to understand, transparent and carry low fees. Millions of people across Europe have turned to ETFs to start their investing journey as a result and digital platforms position ETFs front and centre for first time investors," says Timo Toenges, EMEA Head of Digital Wealth at BlackRock. Looking east, I spoke with CoreValues Alpha’s Ben Harburg this week about his actively managed CVA Greater China Growth ETF (CGRO), an ETF based on his and his team’s deep knowledge of the Chinese market. Harburg says: "We have a deep understanding of the market dynamics of China with 40 people on the ground reading the tea leaves and sometimes we know years ahead what is going on so we can navigate the bumps and put our money into sectors where there is a lot of government slipstream." We are very pleased to be able to bring our readers a discount at the December Inside ETFs’ Canada event. The programme is here, and please use this discount code, ETFExpress2024, for 20 per cent off. We are also pleased to bring you a discount for a London-based responsible investment conference. This code, ETF20, will gain you a 20 per cent discount on tickets to attend RAO Global’s symposium on 21st November in London. The event details are here.
