Europort 2019: one of the most successful editions

Europort 2019, which closed on November 8th, was one of the most successful editions, attracting international visitors in record numbers. Over 26,000 visitors from 93 countries passed through the doors of Rotterdam Ahoy over the four days of the event, attracted by Europort’s specific focus on special ship markets and the tried and tested mix of conference sessions, Masterclasses and networking. The exhibition showcased products and services of over 1000 companies from all around the world. The overall mood was strongly upbeat with many shipping markets showing recovery. Preparations are already starting for the next edition of Europort which will be held in Rotterdam 2-5th November 2021. Put the date in your diary and watch the aftermovie below!

The packed Europort 2019 programme was universally considered a big hit by participants. One of the most exciting developments was the #YoungEuroport progamme, exploring the opportunities and challenges facing the next generation of maritime professionals. Other high points included a busier than ever MariMatch, the Royal Institution of Naval Architects Maritime Industry 4.0 Conference and the well-attended CEDA Days and European Tugowners conference. The daily Masterclasses also achieved their objective of thought leadership, on key issues such as digitalisation, autonomous ships, renewables and advanced shipbuilding techniques. New for 2019, the Smart4Sea Europort Awards proved a great success, rewarding and promoting high standards in the maritime sector, while the various networking opportunities generated many new connections.
