City Center Fort Worth is hosting its 3rd Annual Memorial Tower Climb at the Bank of America Tower on Saturday, September 14, 2024 to pay tribute and to honor the fallen heroes from 9/11. During the Tower Climb, area First Responders will climb 36 floors of the Bank of America tower three times which is nearly the equivalent of the 110 stories of the World Trade Center. The tower climb is family friendly and welcomes visitors and supporters to this meaningful event.
There will be various tributes to memorialize the fallen first responders including a local Pipe & Drum band opening the ceremony, a dedicated moment of silence recognizing the timeline that unfolded on September 11, 2001, and each of today’s heroes – our local first responders – will carry a name and photo of a hero who responded to the World Trade Centers to finish the climb for them. In addition, this year there will be a Community Zone dedicated to Fort Worth’s Police & Fire Departments. Here, you’ll have an opportunity to climb inside a fire truck, police vehicle and ambulance or visit with the FWPD CIT team dogs or climb through the FWFD Fire Safety House. Also onsite, is a 20’x20’ US flag quilt made up of 2,700 photos of the individuals who died on 9/11. It’s a beautiful and meaningful tribute to honor all of the fallen.
