Indictment odds: Six months ago, an indictment of Mayor LaToya Cantrell seemed imminent. Today, it looks less and less likely. James Finn explains.

Flagging confidence: There have been some marked improvements to life in New Orleans in the last two years. But it's still a mixed bag, and residents are not optimistic about the city's economic fortunes. James Finn (again!) has a look at what the candidates for mayor say they'll do to change that.

Another departure: Another official with the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality has left since Aurelia S. Giacometto was appointed to head up the agency, citing her alleged erratic and vindictive behavior. David Mitchell has the details.
