Gatorbowl: Two gators enter, one gator leaves What would you do if you heard growling and snapping outside your front door? If you said anything other than “put up a barricade,” you’re braver than we are, but Susan Geshel from Florida dealt with this same situation by recording it in the moment. After hearing what appeared to be animals fighting on her front door, she whipped out her camera and recorded the sight of not one, but two alligators engaged in combat with one another. The reptiles did a complex dance of bites and snaps while pinning each other to her door and walls, but one gator eventually managed to slip free and escape. The winner, it seems, wasn’t interested in sticking around. Needless to say, they left a mess of dirt and debris on the front porch (as well as a funky odor Floridians are all-too familiar with). As an interesting aside, this rare type of encounter could have only happened in summer, which is when gators leave their aquatic habitats to mate. Was this lizard battle nothing more than a lover’s quarrel? The world may never know. Believe it or not, that might not even be the most “Florida” video you can find online. This one is.
