In the past year, we have seen people across the world wake up to the twin crises of climate change and nature loss like never before, and rightly so. The impacts of both are creating devastating losses not just for humanity, but world economies as well.
Despite extreme events such as forest fires, heatwaves and flooding becoming more commonplace, world leaders still aren’t taking bold action to protect nature and people.
In 2020, world leaders have an unmissable opportunity to commit to halting nature loss and setting nature on the path to recovery by 2030 – something we call a New Deal for Nature and People. Please add your Voice and urge world leaders to take urgent action for nature and people.
In the coming week, we will also be calling for a New Deal at WEF’s high-profile annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland. We will be reaching out to leading figures in areas ranging from business to politics, who will be there to discuss building a more cohesive and sustainable world.
Australian bushfires update
With your help, we have already raised over AUD$750,000 for our emergency Australian bushfire appeal. Thank you to every person who has donated. The money you have helped raise will go towards providing emergency funds to care for injured wildlife, restoring homes for koalas, as well as continuing to support response and recovery efforts.
We would also like to recognize the heroics of the firefighters and wildlife carers who have worked tirelessly on the frontline, as well as the amazing work of the many organizations helping those in desperate need.
Another way to get involved
Here's another way to show your support for the wildlife and people affected by the Australian bushfires.
100% of WWF profits from the sale of this koala tee will be used to respond to affected wildlife and mobilise interventions that protect and restore habitats.
