Lose yourself in festive fairytale magic at Shakespeare's Globe

Hear ye, hear ye! Shakespeare’s Globe is a one-stop-shop of Christmas joy this season. Leading the line-up is a magical adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen’s classic story, The Fir Tree, written by Hannah Khalil.

Cosy up in the iconic open-air Globe Theatre, hot chocolate or mulled wine in hand, to discover the tale of a curious fir tree who dreams of adventure beyond the forest. Filled with hand-crafted puppetry, song and a forest-full of imagination, this heartwarming staging is a delight for theatre-goers big and small. You’re never too old to experience the timeless wonder of Christmas!

Limited performances run from 15-31 December
Plus, with accompanying family workshops, tours and festive afternoon teas also on hand, you may feel inspired to make a full day of it. Take your pick...

Book Your Tickets
Tickets From A Fiver

Forget West End prices. Standing tickets to The Fir Tree cost just £5 (for the full Shakespearean experience). If you'd prefer a seat, you can purchase Gallery tickets for £15-£49 and there are half-price seated tickets available for under 18s.

Festive Family Frolics

Children aged 9-12 can step right into the story on a Drama Workshop with a Globe practitioner. Or, join a Festive Family Tour to learn what a Shakespearean Christmas really looked like. Spoiler: wassailing and proper mince pyes may feature!

Gifts Galore

As well as a dose of festive spirit, Shakespeare’s Globe also has your Christmas shopping sorted. For the literary lovers in your life, pop to the theatre shop for gifts galore. Shakespearean socks? Puzzles? Gift boxes? Bard-themed baubles? Fill your cross-gartered stockings – online shopping is also available.

A Special (And Tasty!) Treat

Round off your visit with an afternoon tea crammed with Christmassy bites at Swan Bar & Restaurant. Think turkey and cranberry brioche buns, followed by Rudolph macaroons and Cognac chestnut baubles. Spectacular views of the River Thames and London skyline while you dine? That’s just the icing on your brandy-steeped Christmas cake.
