| Pre-COVID, it was easy for faith to provide routines that became part of our social calendars. Small groups during the week, Sunday morning services, and church-wide events became a place to see one another and connect. And for much of America, taking those rhythms away (or at least changing the way we engage with them) has changed us. Our faith was suddenly more siloed, and the places where the church could become a social club stopped existing. So how do we influence the world around us without the weight of the church to throw around? Let�s face it: we often look to institutions to spur on the redemption of the world, but that can only go so far. Many believe that if we just vote for the right people, the world can be fixed�or at least lean in the way that favors our values.
In �The Supreme Court Isn�t All Powerful,� Bonnie Kristian reminds us that if we want to influence the culture around us for the Kingdom, we can�t put all of our hope in the powers that be. Perhaps now, in this time of chaos and uncertainty, it�s time for us to put our faith into action from the ground up. |
