Despite only being in the U.S. market for about two weeks, Aussie fintech startup Lumiant has been making fast friends stateside. The latest firm showing its support of Lumiant’s family-centric planning software that prioritizes life goals over financial goals is Savant Wealth Management.
This week, Savant announced a $3 million investment into the company that will place Savant CEO Brent Brodeski on the Lumiant board, give Savant a minority stake in the company and allow it to roll out the tools to advisors. Brodeski said he’s excited about the pairing because it taps into what clients are most passionate about: their families and their futures.
Speaking of what clients care about most, the recently released 2022 Hearsay Social Selling Study finds that wealth managers looking to reel in prospects should scale back on flooding the zone with endless self promotion. Instead, advisors may benefit more by sharing their knowledge of the industry and providing glimpses of who they are outside of work.
Financial Planning caught up with the minds behind the study to talk about what social media platforms draw the most engagement and how to forge bonds with prospects before they ever reach out to set that first meeting.
Also new this week is the annual ranking of the 50 best places to work in fintech including Facet Wealth, Envestnet, Snappy Kraken and a number of other organizations who work to support wealth managers. As far as what sets a top fintech apart from the pack, this year’s list was dominated by firms who put employee needs front and center. Among the differentiators are paid sabbaticals that allow individuals to recharge, days off every Friday in the summer and no-cost health care options.
