Tan Dinh reopens in Gretna after a two-month hiatus. Going meatless has never been easier in New Orleans, while Sneaky Pickle expands its menu and its identity. Visitors to the Mississippi Gulf Coast will have another New Orleans restaurant option soon, while a Louisiana couple wins an award for their healthier Bloody Mary, And there's more! Let's dig in ... 1. Farewell to Casa Borrega. Hugo Montero, an artist from Mexico City, developed Casa Borrega to serve traditional, regional Mexican fare in a patio could feel like a town square, filled with art and music. It was an early entry in what for a time was shaping up to be a new restaurant row along Oretha Castle Haley Boulevard. Montero closed the restaurant on Friday after nine years in business. 2. Welcome back to Tan Dinh. After two months, Ian McNulty reports the return of Tan Dinh, whose distinctive house specialties help set the Gretna establishment apart in the ever-growing realm of local Vietnamese restaurants. Ian was so relieved he ordered extra for lunch. See what's new and what's familiar here. 3. Wait! There's more. Going meatless has never been easier, or tastier, in New Orleans. Sneaky Pickle in the Bywater adds a dinner concept called Bar Brine. A new restaurant in downtown Biloxi will feature New Orleans flavors, while a Louisiana couple wins a medal for their salt-free Bloody Mary mix. 4. Don't call them 'mocktails'!
