BY DOUG GRAHAM | Staff writer A year ago the body of Allison Rice, riddled with multiple gunshot wounds, was found inside her vehicle shortly before 2:30 a.m. Sept. 16 in the 1500 block of Government Street. The death of the 21-year-old marketing major at LSU has left many of her loved ones still struggling to come to terms with the loss. “This past year was just very confusing. I felt like I was in a different world than what I knew before this incident,” said Payton Reulet, one of her roommates. The seven candidates in the Louisiana governor's race met in a statewide televised debate Friday night, only two weeks before early voting begins Sept. 30. Search our database After a federal judge's order last week, all of the teens incarcerated at a controversial lockup at the state penitentiary at Angola have been relocated to a new facility in Jackson Parish, officials said Friday. Officials said the youth will be housed there temporarily while repairs continue on other facilities maintained by the Louisiana Office of Juvenile Justice. |
