A Sienna poll conducted on Monday found that an overwhelming majority of New York voters believe embattled Rep. George Santos, R-N.Y., should resign from Congress.
59% of the state's voters said he should resign, while only 20% said he should remain in Congress, according to the poll. 49% of Republicans believe he should resign, while only 26% believe he should not.
Santos is facing increasing calls for his resignation as more information about his past comes to light, revealing that a significant portion of his resume was falsified. Santos has admitted to fabricating his employment and educational background.
Additionally, he is the subject of federal, state, and international fraud investigations. |
