KISSEL | Metro editor Neighbors had feared Henry Williams III for years, particularly after it was alleged he shot a gun at the feet of utility workers who replaced outdated gas line equipment at his home. (The workers reinstalled the old equipment at Williams' insistence, according to court records.) Residents of the community near the intersection of Florida Boulevard and O'Neal Lane visited with us to talk about the weekend shooting death of a man, a standoff that followed, and their regular run-ins with Williams. There's a bit less anxiety in the neighborhood, but the developments still have people rattled. Our state fair is a great state fair, as Rodgers and Hammerstein wrote, but for Baton Rouge residents, it's dollars to donuts that it might not be our state fair much longer. (Yes, there's a chance people who aren't fans of musical theatre won't get the references, but you can look it up.) Fair officials say they're moving to Ascension Parish for 2022, and may stay there if this year's run is a success. There are some worries about traffic flow around the Lamar-Dixon Expo Center, but the facilities are considered prime for what the fair offers. Who's to say there wasn't hot sauce at the Last Supper? A church in Acadiana has something extra in a mural depicting a key moment in the history of Christianity. You've got to see it to believe it.
