You may have heard: Independence Institute turns 40 this year—four decades of fighting for freedom without taking a dime of taxpayer money. That’s right, not one cent from the government we love to limit. If you like that kind of principled stubbornness, throw us a few bucks and keep it going strong.
This week, we continued to welcome our Future Leaders. They are building bridges and cementing skills that will last a lifetime. |

I am a former elementary teacher, and my two young grandchildren provide me with an opportunity to continue my love of teaching. My granddaughter will be four in October, and my grandson will be two in August. They both love books. I love to read high-quality literature and subject matter books to them, instead of only reading cute stories about the bunny or puppy. My grandson will be receiving Tuttle Twin board books for his second birthday. He will learn about the principles of freedom, economics, innovation, and the Bill of Rights. I recently read parts of A.A. Milne’s The Complete Tales of Winnie the Pooh to my granddaughter. When I asked her questions about the story, I was pleasantly surprised by how well she listened and accurately answered my questions. Another example is I read a book about seashells to my grandson, and I gave him shells to hold. Please check out our SchoolChoiceforKids.org website’s enrichment activities. You will find the activities helpful for summer learning. Enjoy! -Pam Benigno, Director, Education Policy Center |

Devil's Advocate with Jon Caldara is a current events show not to be missed. Each week it features lively - and sometimes heated - debates between elected officials, journalists, activists, concerned citizens, subject-matter experts, and hard-pressing host Jon Caldara, president of the Independence Institute. Jon is not afraid to express his "free-market" views, and his guests are not afraid to take on those opinions. It all makes for an informative, lively public affairs program. |
