Your Monday evening update from the Lancashire Post
View email online | | | | | Dec 6, 2021 | | | | | | Good evening, It’s good to see that the traditional Christmas spirit is alive and well again this year. Certainly, that is, in the case of the many Santa Dashes taking place around the county. Over the weekend, our photographers were out all over the patch covering this most enchanting of charity runs...with thousands of people dressed up as Father Christmas. Clearly this will have provided an economic boost for some of our fancy dress shops as well as a bit of fun for the passers-by who witnessed any of the action. Who could fail to smile at dozens of Santas running around, after all. But all of this festive fun does have a more serious side. All of these events have been raising much-needed cash for some of our best-loved charities, including local hospices. Last year was a difficult one for charities as their funding depends hugely on public support for these kinds of events and at that time most of us were locked down in our homes so many events didn’t go ahead. It’s great to see so many involved this year. Until next time, take care, Gillian Contact me at gillian.parkinson@jpress.co.uk Want to see fewer ads?
