As of 5 May 2020, South Africa had 7,220 confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 (2,427 more than last week); 3,451 of those cases are in the Western Cape (1,833 more since last week) and 3,015 are in Cape Town (1,625 more since last week). The country has done 257,541 tests (79,071 more than last week), according to the latest update.
