We are delighted to include the late Michael Berthoud Collection of H&R Daniel in our September Fine Art, Antiques and Jewellery Auction. Ceramics enthusiasts might well recognise Michael’s name for his important work in co-authoring ground-breaking reference works such as ‘A Directory of British Teapots’ and ‘A Compendium of British Cups’, but a perhaps lesser-known passion of his was the works Henry & Richard Daniel’s porcelain and earthenware factory in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent. As well as this significant collection, this auction boasts many lots that will delight collectors and art enthusiasts such as a fine and rare early 18th century ebonised quarter repeating double basket top bracket clock, oils by artists Edgar Hunt (1876-1953) and Margaret Murray Cooksley (c1850-1927) and watches by Rolex, Omega and Patek Philippe to name a few. View the collection of H&R Daniel and the full catalogue of lots online now or if you prefer to handle before you bid, visit our salerooms in person and ask our specialists about the lots. We are open for public view in Shrewsbury on the 17th, 18th and 19th September. For all sale enquiries and to request a condition report, please contact our team: fineart@hallsgb.com / 01743 450 700
