News is trickling in over another company buying a bunch of acreage for a solar panel farm in St. Landry Parish. This time it's NextEra Energy, which bought 1,600 acres near Port Barre for a project that is expected to be a $200 million investment. Earlier this year Lightsource bp, a BP subsidiary that is building a giant solar farm in Pointe Coupee Parish, said it will build a $170 million facility near the Plaisance community.
