| | | A Message from the Florida League We, like many of you, are watching the Coronavirus pandemic unfold before us. We are monitoring the situation daily and are heeding the warnings by state and local authorities. These are unprecedented times and we encourage everyone to heed the warnings to help prevent the spread of this virus. While it is too early to say how this pandemic may interrupt Florida League operations this summer, it has already had a significant impact on our organization and the local economy due to the cancellation of our high school spring break tournaments. The Florida League is a 501c3 non-profit organization that exists for the benefit of our players and the communities in which we operate. We recognize that if we are able to continue operations this summer our organization will have an even greater importance for our players and communities after this pandemic. We are preparing several different contingency plans to help serve the needs of our players. When the time is appropriate we will announce those plans but, it would be irresponsible to do so before there is any kind of clarity as to when this virus might pass. We will engage in conversations with our partners at Major League Baseball, the NCAA and the National Alliance of College Summer Baseball. We will also continue our longstanding commitment to make player focused decisions and we wonât move forward until it is absolutely safe to do so. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available to us in the coming weeks. For now, please keep yourself and your family safe. Stefano Foggi President Florida League |
