NIH to invest $58M to catalyze data science and innovation in Africa

The NIH has announced it plans to provide $58 million over five years for a new initiative, Harnessing Data Science for Health Discovery and Innovation in Africa (DS-I Africa), with funding opportunity announcements expected to be issued this summer.

NIH closes sexual harassment loopholes governing grantees

NIH has announced new guidance for grantees that addresses reported gaps in its policies against sexual harassment. The new guidance builds on previous steps NIH has taken to strengthen reporting of sexual harassment and other misconduct.

New grants to support training for HIV, bioethics researchers

Fogarty has announced a combined $23 million in new awards through its HIV research training program - including a project focused on HIV prevention and treatment among adolescents - and international bioethics training program.

COVID research, diagnostics projects gear up at NIH

To help speed development and commercialization of COVID-19 testing technologies needed to ensure a safe reopening of society, the NIH has announced the $1.5 billion RADx initiative. The NIH also continues to ramp up clinical studies of COVID-19.

Focus on the Fogarty community's response to COVID-19

As a result of the COVID-19 global pandemic, Fogarty grantees, trainees and fellows across geographic areas and research disciplines are shifting their focus to help address critical needs.
