Global demand has skyrocketed for nearly all commodities -- including cereals, snacks, coffee, pasta, and sauces -- and the State of Israel is not immune. A number of food manufacturers of Israeli staples have raised the prices of basic food items by up to 12%. The price hikes are already causing a major impact on most Israeli pantries and significantly adds to the strain of lower-class Israeli families who are already battling the effects of poverty. Organizations like Feed Israel are gearing up to tackle the influx of new food requests, and working to provide nutritious meals to Israel's poorest. Economists have also noted that property taxes, gasoline, and electricity prices are also rising. Many social media influencers are demanding the Israeli government take steps to reduce the high cost of living and lower the shelf prices on a variety of everyday food items. |

UN's Resolution Against Holocaust Denial |
|
An Israeli-sponsored resolution condemning online denial of the Holocaust was just approved by The U.N. General Assembly. The resolution provides a precise definition of Holocaust denial and holds social media companies accountablke for removing inflammatory Holocaust denial posts. “We live in an era in which fiction is becoming fact and the Holocaust is becoming a distant memory,” Israel’s U.N. Ambassador Gilad Erdan said. “And as this happens following the greatest crime in human history, now comes the greatest cover-up in human history. Social media giants can no longer remain complacent to the hate spread on their platforms and must take action now.” |

| | I am so grateful for this rewarding experience. When I hand a young boy or girl a food package, I can see their small eyes light up with joy. At the end of my shift, I will have encountered dozens of people who will touch my heart, make me smile, or give me something positive to reflect on. I feel a genuine sense of contentment and believe I am making the world into a better place by helping the less fortunate. The fact is, my volunteering experience at Feed Israel has been very inspiring and is transforming me into a more wholesome person, simply by doing acts of kindness each day. |

| Cold apartments. Empty fridges. Broken economy forced thousands of Israelis into poverty. This Holiday season, too many families and individuals will find themselves deprived of food or heat. Help us help them. |
