| Charleston convenience chain acquires N.C. stores The Refuel convenience store chain has expanded into North Carolina with its acquisition of Holmes Oil Inc., owner and operator of 26 stores throughout the Raleigh-Durham market. Unemployment drops to 4.2% in October in S.C. The Charleston-North Charleston metro area reported a 4.0% unemployment rate as several S.C. industries reported gains, including hospitality, which added 6,900 jobs. South Carolina’s unemployment rate dropped from 5.2% in September to 4.2% in October. Nationally, the unemployment rate dropped to 6.9% in October from 7.9% in September. |
