I can’t believe we’re reaching the end of another year. When I look back at the beginning of 2021, it feels like it was a different world. Like so many of you, I was full of uncertainty — about what the new presidential administration would bring, how to gather with family for my son’s bar mitzvah in the midst of a COVID-19 surge, and how the emerging news about a vaccine would change our lives.

But as I consider that time, I remember there was one thing I was absolutely sure about: whatever happened in the new year, our team at the Forward would have it covered.

As 2021 comes to a close, now is your chance to support fiercely independent Jewish journalism in the year ahead.

SUPPORT OUR WORK

I am incredibly proud of our accomplishments in 2021:

We won an unprecedented 34 Rockower Awards from the American Jewish Press Association, as well as awards from the Religion News Association, Los Angeles Press Association and the Society for Features Journalism.
We launched a new podcast that brings our historic Bintel Brief advice column into the 21st century.
We saw the direct impact of our journalism when a Belgian town square removed references honoring Nazis after our investigation into monuments that honor antisemites.
We launched our ambitious new morning newsletter Forwarding the News, along with newsletters Forward Reads and Forward with the Arts.
We hosted our second virtual gala, Have I Got A Story For You! A Celebration of Jewish American Narratives. Over 2,000 people tuned in and we raised over $200,000!
