Gas explosion survivors share harrowing story. And arctic air is on the way.

Happy Friday Eve! We're getting close to the weekend and an arctic cold front is on the way to cool things down again. 


'Just like a canon': Survivors of the gas explosion at an Avondale mobile home share their harrowing experience, which left their 87-year-old matriarch dead and others hospitalized with severe burns. A federal agency is now investigating. 


Blue plate special: The building housing The Clover Grill, a popular all-night diner on Bourbon Street, has been sold. The new owner: the businessman who operates the restaurant, famous for serving up hubcap burgers with a heaping side of nostalgia. 


Air pollution: For the second time this year, Shell Chemical has struck a deal with the DEQ after state regulators said its Norco plant released hundreds of thousands of pounds of air pollutants over two years.
