Hello, Wednesday is when we round-up the best of our property news from the last week. Dating back to circa 1690, we’ve taken a look inside a substantially extended eight-bedroom home which also boasts a cinema room, swimming pool and tennis court. Laithe Farmhouse is surrounded by extensive private landscaped gardens. There’s also the magnificently named Throstle Nest, surely one of the most beautiful homes currently on the market in the county. On the market for a cool £1.8m the six-bed Mellor home has five reception rooms, a gorgeous kitchen, spacious bedrooms, extensive private landscaped gardens, a tennis court, and sprawling woodland. However, these properties are seemingly rare as just 40 out of the 16,184 properties sold for £1million or more in the UK over the past 12 months were located in Lancashire, according to new research. As per data analysed by Property Solvers, just 20 homes in Lancaster sold for £1m or more, as well as eight homes in Preston, seven in Blackpool, and five in Blackburn. Elsewhere, the death of Queen Elizabeth II marks the transfer of the Crown’s regional landholdings to King Charles III and, as well as being the ceremonial head of state of the United Kingdom, the Queen had a private property portfolio amounting to billions of pounds in value. Included in that portfolio are a few places in Lancashire. Thanks for reading, Adam adam.lord@nationalworld.com | |
