In a period of Formula 1 dominance like weāre experiencing right now, itās easy to get a little jaded over its predictability ā so why not look elsewhere for some bright young talent enjoying motorsport success? In NASCAR, 24-year-old Chase Elliott won his first Cup title on Sunday ā despite starting at the back of the grid! ā following in his father Billās footsteps. He was already NASCARās most popular driver, and now Chase is enjoying the success to back it up. And it looks like weāll see him in the Rolex 24 at Daytona next year too! In MotoGP, Joan Mir is a year younger than Elliott and seems set for the 2020 title after a stealthy campaign on his Suzuki. He took his time in winning that first race at this level, but Iāve got a feeling that his victory in Valencia will help him kick on. Heās certainly the title favourite now.
