How Will You Positively Impact Your Food Community This Year? | In many ways, coming into a new calendar year feels like a much needed reset. Between the unpredictability of public health and the everyday challenges that keep us on our toes, we may experience diminished capacity to be intentional about food. As we enter the new year, it’s an excellent time to refresh our commitment to contributing to a nourishing food system and setting intentions that are as sustainable as the future we envision. We invited CUESA Board members and volunteers to share some of their good food resolutions for 2022. Check out the article, and find inspiration for your own! | |
| Thank You for Contributing to a Sustainable and Equitable Food Future | Thank you to everyone who donated generously to our end-of-year fundraising campaign! Together, we've raised $60,677 to support local farms, community food access, and food education in 2022 and beyond. Watch this video to see the difference we're making together. | |
| Join Our Volunteer Orientation Next Wednesday | Volunteers are vital members of our team who perform a wide range of duties such as assisting customers at our farmers markets, teaching kids to cook, and helping out behind the scenes at the CUESA office. Make new friends and get hands-on culinary, event, and nonprofit experience. Sign up for our virtual volunteer orientation on Wednesday, January 12. | |
| Intern Spotlight: Chloe Cabon | Referred by SF State University’s Environmental Studies program, intern Chloe Cabon supported our Foodwise Kids team to host a combination of farmers market field trips, on-site school cooking classes, and virtual classes. A whopping total of 900 students were served since September, and we wouldn't have been able to do it without the support of volunteers and interns like Chloe. | |
| Butternut, Orange, and Sage Galette | This aromatic main dish from Yotam Ottolenghi's Ottolenghi Flavor, prepared with in-season ingredients from the farmers market, brings a wealth of flavor to the table. Set aside some time and give this galette a go! | |
