Hi John, Do you ever get stuck when making art? How do you deal with this? I have so many art-making tips for you, but today I'll focus on one thing I'm enjoying...Painter's Tape! When you begin by taping a border around your page, it can get you in the mood to create. Why? With the tape, you're adding something to the page, so adding more can be much easier after that first act of courage! And, while you're taping, you might start musing about the next steps. The tape creates a frame that seems to pull creative ideas, even half-baked ones, together! I’m a fan of layering, so following that taped edge, this is a sure-fire recipe for success: Fill the page with paint - I chose watery green and opaque cream. I blotted it on, which was fun and freeing Glue on collage papers - I have a ream of graph paper, likely borrowed from one of my kids at the end of their geometry term, I'm not sure. I love the grid pattern and just tore off pieces and added them with glue. Paint details on top - with acrylic paint and a thin brush. If you'd like to paint in something more representational, look around your space for any images or objects that catch your eye. That’s always a good place to start. One of my fascinations is vintage children's book illustrations, so I opened one up and found images that influenced today's painting.✨ Please pop over to my Instagram page for more!
