FEBRUARY 18, 2025 Hey y’all, I spent the weekend working… I know, I know. It was a three-day weekend. I should have taken some time off. And don’t worry, I did have some fun in there! But honestly, I was enjoying the work I was doing, because I’ve been looking into and preparing for some really cool briefings, updates, and strategies we’ll be sharing with you over the next few weeks! I hope you’re excited! Because I certainly am. And by the way: make sure you’re following the ProsperityPub Telegram to keep up to date with all the latest. Now, there is one fun thing I got to do this weekend… I got to visit what’s fast becoming one of my favorite restaurants in the world. It’s called Chow Down Alley, and it’s a little mom and pop breakfast/lunch place around the corner from my house:
I have to tell you that I love this place. If I didn’t go into the office most days, I would eat lunch here maybe every day. It’s so small and unassuming you might miss it. It doesn’t even look like a restaurant — it’s tucked inside a row of office buildings. But the minute you walk inside, it’s like being transported back to a simpler era. Everyone smiles, says hi, and recognizes you. The literal mom and pop who run the place are there every day — and if they’re not there, the place isn’t open! And the food is fantastic. Real food, made right in front of you, healthier than a lot of restaurants. Whether it’s a salad, a wrap, a sandwich, or one of their delicious burgers with fries, you’re sure to be in for a treat. Now, this isn’t an advertisement for Chow Down Alley (although, if you’re ever in the area, by all means, take advantage!) But there’s one thing about CDA that stands above everything else it does: They make maybe the best ranch dressing in the entire world. Now, I know some people out there don’t care for ranch dressing — heathens, I think they’re called (okay, that might be too strong. But you definitely didn’t come from the midwest like me) But for the rest of us who know the subtle science and exact art that is ranch dressing, you know: there’s a quality curve, and it’s tough to reach the top. But Chow Down Alley has done it, folks. They’ve done the impossible. Consistency, flavor, it’s all there. And it’s healthy, because it’s homemade (don’t research that please, just accept it as true). The funny thing is, I heard about Chow Down’s ranch dressing before I heard about anything else. My friend Ileana recommended it to me and told me “make sure you get the ranch.” And I’ve gotten the ranch ever since. It’s kind of their trademark. And that taught me a lesson that I think is important in any line of work, even trading: have a trademark. Have a “thing.” Make sure there’s something you do better than anybody else. That makes you stand out. That makes you successful. That makes people come back. Now, some of those things might not be as applicable to trading as others, but I think in general, there’s a good lesson here. As a trader, you should pick something you’re really good at and stick to that. If you’re a swing trader, be a swing trader. If you’re a day trader, be a day trader. If you love calls and hate puts, then trade calls. If you love spreads and hate condors, then don’t trade condors and only trade simpler spreads. Why beat yourself over the head with something that doesn’t work or only kind of works if you have a lane that works great for you? It’s like when you go to a restaurant and they hand you a menu with fifteen pages — there’s no way you’re doing ALL of these things well, which makes me worry you might be doing NONE of these things well. Trading isn’t any different. Pick what you’re good at, and keep doing it. And always get the ranch at Chow Down Alley. To your prosperity, Stephen Ground Editor-in-Chief, ProsperityPub
