I need your signature to LOWER our taxes.
 
Colorado doesn’t need another tax increase. In fact, we need a flat-rate income tax CUT to Energize our Economy from the recession the government-mandated lockdown has caused.
 
I am a co-proponent, along with Senator Jerry Sonnenberg, of a statutory statewide initiative #306 to LOWER the income tax rate for ALL Colorado taxpayers—thereby not only preserving Colorado’s flat income tax rate from a proposed progressive income tax increase, but also allowing working families to keep more of their own money.
 
Senator Sonnenberg tried three times to pass this common sense measure through the Colorado Legislature, but was blocked by Legislative Democrats, even though candidate Polis said that he would support such a measure. 
 
Jerry and I were forced to take matters in our own hands and file a citizens’ initiative. The Title Board approved our title and no one challenged us before the Colorado Supreme Court.  
 
Now we are starting the process of collecting signatures for RealFairTax #306. We have formed an issue committee to support the signature gathering efforts. Signatures are due by August 3rd.   
 
The purpose of this email is to let you know that the issue committee will be circulating petitions right here at Independence Institute. We’ll also be collecting signatures for a companion initiative that would require voter approval BEFORE the state can raise taxes by just calling them a new “fee.” We would very much appreciate you coming and signing for both!
