I wore smart glasses that made me excited for the future

Smart glasses aren't there yet, but they're starting to show real promise

I know smart glasses will fit neatly into my life. I wear spectacles already, I loved Google Glass, and I often wear a smartwatch. I also wear headphones a lot to listen to podcasts while I do other things, and I like the idea of having a whopping great big screen right in front of my eyes to watch videos. A camera wouldn't go amiss, either.

But getting all this in one product is still a far-off dream, so I have to make do with separate devices for now. But sadly, the products we have currently haven’t quite hit the spot, as the TCL smart glasses I’ve been wearing (lovingly called the RayNeo Nxtwear S) have proved.

But, it’s closer to getting it right than ever before ...

How to watch Apple's 'Scary Fast' event today

The event's name almost certainly refers to Apple's next-gen processor

Apple’s “Scary Fast” event is taking place later today.

It's widely expected that the tech giant will take the wraps off refreshed MacBook Pros with the company’s new M3 chip, as well as an updated 24-inch iMac, which has been waiting two years for an overhaul and currently comes with Apple’s M1 chip.

Although it won’t have the fanfare of an iPhone launch, Apple has nevertheless decided to stream the event, which kicks off at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET.

You can watch it by heading over to Apple’s YouTube channel or by visiting its website.

As has been the case since the pandemic, Apple’s launch events tend to take the form of a slickly produced video instead of an onstage event, so we can expect to see the same today ...

In 1994, at just 24 years old, Perry landed the role that made him famous: Chandler on Friends. Alongside Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer, Perry stayed with the comedy for 10 seasons as it became one of the most popular sitcoms of the ’90s.

In memory of his great talent, we pay tribute to Perry with a look at three of his best episodes that helped cement his legacy as a gifted comic performer ...

HANDS-ON REVIEW

Samsung Odyssey OLED gaming monitor review

A very impressive OLED display but with a few notable drawbacks

Samsung's current slate of QD-OLED monitors are among the best gaming monitors you can buy, so it's no surprise that the Odyssey OLED G9 is a great gaming display. What I didn't expect going into this review is that I'd actually be considering adopting the unique 32:9 aspect ratio that I wrote off for so many years.

At 49 inches diagonally and occupying the space of two 27-inch monitors, the Odyssey OLED G9 seemed too impractical to be usable, and I was certain that it would be hard to recommend alongside the best monitors.

After spending some time with it, however, it's clear that the monitor provides unrivaled productivity prowess and one of the most immersive gaming experiences money can buy. It won't be easy to go back to even a standard ultrawide monitor ...
