Happy Friday, friends! Dang, Iβm still full from yesterday. Letβs kick things off with a tech brain teaser. In 2016, Warren Buffett indicated he was missing the boat by not investing in a certain tech company. Was it β¦ A.) Amazon, B.) Apple, C.) Facebook or D.) OpenAI? Youβll find the answer at the end. ποΈ Itβs a little different newsletter today. Since shopping is on everyoneβs mind, I did the research to find outstanding gifts at reasonable prices. Tomorrowβs issue has more gift ideas if none of these hit the right note. My goal was to find things that would make your loved one say, βWhoa! I never thought of that.β Do your part and keep this newsletter free to you! Check out Incogni β theyβll get your personal info off all the data broker and people-search sites. Come Sunday, weβll be back to our regularly scheduled programming. I have a great privacy tip to see whoβs tracking your location and how to make it stop. Now, letβs start checking off people on your gift list! β Kim π« First-time reader? Sign up here. (Itβs free!) |
Have 3 minutes? You can protect your privacyIβve been telling you about people-search and data broker sites for years. They gather up every detail about you they can β then sell it to the highest bidder. That can include scammers. If your phone and email are blowing up with spam, you can do something about it. Try Incogni. I did. They work to remove your data from 180+ sites. It took me three minutes to set up, and every time I check in, my info has been wiped off another few sites. Right now, I have a killer deal for you: Take back your privacy for 60% off. Incogni offers a full 30-day money-back guarantee, too, if youβre not happy. Hurry! Use code KIM60 today to get an exclusive 60% discount. β |
TECH LIFE UPGRADESBe a keyboard whiz: Most of us have a few apps or programs open at the same time. Instead of all that clicking, use your keyboard to switch between open apps. On a Windows PC, press Ctrl + Alt + Tab. On Mac, press Cmd + Tab. ππ» Ah, that feels better: Typing on an iPad can be awkward. The split keyboard lets you type using just your thumbs. To activate it, open Settings > General > Keyboard and toggle the switch next to βSplit Keyboardβ to the right. Flying soon? Skip the paper boarding pass and go digital. There are ways to do it with Apple Wallet and Google Pay, but the easiest method is downloading the official app of the airline youβre flying. Security tip: Instead of searching the app store, go to the airline website and look for the link in their footer. |
WHAT THE TECH?The day after Black Friday is Broke Saturday. |
UNTIL NEXT TIME ...The answer: B.) Apple. Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway purchased 9.8 million shares of Apple in the first quarter of 2016. Today, it has 915,560,382 shares of Apple stock. I sat next to Mr. Buffett at a luncheon in 2016, showed him my iPhone and made fun of his flip phone. I wonder if I had something to do with his changing his mind about Apple. π Speaking of β¦ Bad news in the stock market today. Northern Tissue touched a new bottom, and thousands of investors were wiped clean. Before you go, be sure to check out Incogni to remove your personal info from the people-search sites. Enjoy your day, and Iβll see you back here tomorrow with more gift picks. Until then, stay your awesome self! β Kim |
