Whew! Aren't you glad you weren't at the Oscars?

Quick frankly, I'm tired of hearing about and talking about the slap heard round the world for several reasons. Everybody, including HuffPost, has said so much about the incident between Will Smith and Chris Rock so I won't be adding to that here, but in the event you want more context around how we got here, read this very nuanced piece about Smith's journey to the Oscars by Candice Frederick. (Also congrats to Will Smith, Questlove, Samuel L. Jackson and all the Black folks who won this year!)

Now what we really need to be talking about is how Hollywood will literally crumble if they keep ignoring marginalized groups. A recent report shows that diversity is key to the industry's survival. And the only people probably still surprised by that is white people because we all knew that already. That's why it's not a surprise shows like "Abbott Elementary" thrive.

But execs act like they don't want to hear that. Anyway, let me know what shows y'all are watching this weekend.
