Read on for more… Accelerating Change and Radically Increased Lifespan… As you’ll see in this week’s Global Macro Update interview with Dr. Michael Roizen of the Cleveland Clinic, our understanding of the human lifespan is about to undergo more change in the next decade than it has in the last century. The implications to markets, society, public policy, and to you … are profound. Since 1900, for example, the percentage of the total American population aged 65 or older has increased from 4.1% to almost 20%. But what if, within the next decade, we’re forced to radically redefine what age means ? Said another way, 65 may not be the beginning of one’s twilight years, but may simply become the start of “middle age.” This may sound preposterous, but as Dr. Roizen discusses below, it’s already coming true. Yields on 10-year Treasuries increased 5.5% to 3.28%. The S&P 500 declined 6.6% to 3,920. Bitcoin was up .75% to $19,763. Oil declined over 10% to $87.20/barrel for WTI.
