Investigators seek body after woman claims she flushed unborn child down toilet, search of septic tank finds nothing, Sheriff says

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a woman accused of tampering with the corpse of her own child, and investigators are still looking for the body, Sheriff Javier Salazar said. Salazar said on Dec. 12, Victoria Ochoa, 36, went to Southwest General Hospital for complaints about a hemorrhaging after having what she described a miscarriage of a child. Salazar said Ochoa told the hospital staff she had suffered the miscarriage while on a toilet.

Family of Schertz businessman slain Christmas Eve 2015 hope $75K reward yields answers

In a Schertz park named for his family, a sign asking for information on Henry Gutierrez’s 2015 murder has stood for just shy of four years, offering a reward. “I was just thinking, I’ve got another one that hasn’t been beaten by the sun for four years, and I may have to bring back out here. And I’m hoping that I don’t have to,” said his son, Miguel Gutierrez. “Hoping that we can pick it up and pull it out soon.” Miguel Gutierrez has been hoping for that moment ever since he found his father’s body in 2015 on Christmas Eve day.

Man, 34, killed by officers during confrontation on South Side, police chief says

A 34-year-old man is dead after being shot by officers during a confrontation following a theft of a vehicle and major crash on the South Side, San Antonio Police Chief William McManus said. McManus said there was a call for a stolen vehicle in the 200 block of Kendalia Avenue on Monday evening. The owner of the vehicle was tracking it down through an iPad that was left in it and called police.

Several stores will keep their lights on for Christmas Eve, but will close early and remain locked for Christmas Day. Here’s what to expect as far as store hours on Christmas week.

Santa tracker: Follow Santa Claus as he makes his way to you

Children and adults alike can begin tracking Santa on Christmas Eve through the North American Aerospace Defense Command website. In addition to tracking Santa, NORAD tracks airplanes, space launches and other things flying around North America. NORAD began tracking Santa’s flight path around the world in 1958. The agency has become the official Santa tracker.

Aldridge leads sharp-shooting Spurs past Grizzlies, 145-115

LaMarcus Aldridge scored a season-high 40 points, DeMar DeRozan added 26 points and 10 assists, and the San Antonio Spurs shot 67% from the field in a 145-115 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday night. Trey Lyles finished with 17 points and Dejounte Murray scored 14 for the Spurs. The point total and shooting percentage were season-bests for San Antonio.
