Good Monday morning! We hope you had a good holiday with family and friends. We’re trying to get back into gear this morning after taking some time off. Sarah says she went home to Corpus Christi for Christmas. I was here celebrating with my family. On Saturday I went fishing on the Guadalupe River with friends. For a third straight year, I was able to catch at least one Rainbow Trout. She was photographed and released. I lost two others including a huge one. She jumped off my hook as I was reeling her in. The death of the second person was confirmed Sunday evening by FBI spokesman Jason Wandel. He also said the two congregants who opened fire on the suspect were part of a security team at the West Freeway Church of Christ in White Settlement. Authorities have released scant details about the victims, the shooter and what led to the attack. Shooting suspect identified as off-duty BCSO civilian employee A suspect accused of shooting his relative outside a North Side strip mall Saturday night was a civilian employee for the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office. Andrew Joel Ramos, 24, was arrested by San Antonio police on suspicion of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Police said an argument escalated outside a business in the Wonder Center strip mall. That’s when Ramos pulled out a gun and shot the man in the lower torso, police said. Driver killed after crashing into bridge, police say A local woman is dead after she crashed her vehicle into a bridge late Sunday night, San Antonio police said. The crash occurred around 9:30 p.m. near West Ansley Boulevard and Interstate 35 on the city’s South Side. According to police, the woman in her 30s for an unknown reason lost control of her vehicle and went off the road, crashing into the crosswalk bridge. By New Year’s Day, there will be better chances of rain in the forecast as an approaching low pressure system gets closer to South Texas. Garrett future murky as Cowboys beat Redskins, miss playoffs The Cowboys were eliminated from the postseason despite a 47-16 win over Washington on Sunday because Philadelphia won the NFC East by beating the New York Giants. Dallas (8-8) lost control of its postseason fate with a 17-9 loss to the Eagles last week. Now the fate of head coach Jason Garrett is in the hands of owner Jerry Jones. “I have no idea,” Garrett said when asked after the game if he would be coach of the Cowboys for a 10th full season in 2020.
